Primary Function / Major Responsibilities
·Design reliable and easily manufactured electronic circuitry in accordance with design criteria and performance objectives.
·Conduct functional and environmental tests of new designs or modified existing designs to evaluate circuit performance.
·Responsible for cost effective design decisions.
·May prepare proposals,personnel and cost estimates,and work schedules to meet completion dates and technical specifications.
·Assist employees of higher classification in preliminary analysis of design objectives to define optimum design criteria and operating characteristics of subassemblies and complete instruments.
·Prepare documentation such as schematic diagrams,test procedures,theory of operation,purchased part lists,instruction manuals and related information.
·Maintain current knowledge regarding new developments and trends in applicable engineering field.
Specific Job Skills Required:
Knowledge and application of electrical engineering principles,practices and techniques.Requires a high degree of creativity,engineering skill and independent judgment.Working knowledge of software design and basic coding techniques.
Education and/or Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering with minimum of 2-5 years design experience.
